Tutor Smith

Hello! My name is Tutor Smith (史密斯老師). I am a certified English tutor with experience teaching English in Taiwan and New Zealand.

I work part-time as an editor for an English language publishing company. I am also a part-time English teacher here in Kaohsiung. I teach both adults and children.

I am a New Zealander with degrees in economics and psychology. I have also completed graduate studies in information design, and hold dual TEFL and TESOL certifications.

I have lived in Kaohsiung since 2023. I hold an APRC, and I am honored to be a permanent resident of Taiwan.

I am calm, clear, and encouraging.

I think it's easiest to learn in a casual, conversational context — but if you prefer a more intensive (or more relaxed) approach, that's no problem.

Together, we can practice using English for different contexts: everyday communication, talking at work or on vacation, or just reading the news.

As a professional writer and editor, I can also help to improve your writing skills.

We can focus on American English or British English.

After each lesson, I’ll send you a personalized summary of what we covered, including new vocabulary and tailored grammar tips — plus homework (if you’d like it).

• 60 minutes: NT$800
• 90 minutes: NT$1,000
